Rumin Farhana accuses Sarail OC of corruption

Barrister Rumin Farhana, MP for Brahmanbaria-2, was involved in a heated exchange with Sarail Police Station OC Manzur Kader Bhuiyan on Thursday night, accusing him of bribery and other corrupt practices.

Farhana visited the police station to question the OC over alleged irregularities and failure to provide her security during Durga Puja visits.

A person accompanying her alleged that the OC had taken Tk 30,000 in bribes, which he denied. The OC accused Farhana of bringing people to create unrest, while she alleged that he took money from businesses and filed cases against innocent people to extort money.

Superintendent of Police Md Jalal Uddin Fahim could not be reached for comment despite repeated calls.
