Parents must play an aware and responsible role in ensuring their children's safety, Amar Janata Party Member Secretary Tarique Rahman has said, adding that every household should have a bodybuilder father.

He made the remarks in a Facebook post on Saturday (October 24).

In the post, Tarique accused a person named Zubayer of inciting the mob killing of a Hindu youth in Mymensingh, who was allegedly tied to a tree, beaten and burned to death over false allegations.

He questioned why those demanding evidence and justice over a slapping incident had not sought justice when people were killed by mobs. He said justice, the rule of law and children's safety should be ensured for everyone.

Referring to the public reaction, he said people wanted every household to have a bodybuilder father so that children would think twice before doing anything wrong.

Tarique also blamed Shafiqur Rahman for sharing photos and videos of himself kissing children on the lips, questioning whether he did so out of affection or to gain viral attention.

He claimed that kissing young children on the lips could expose them to serious health risks, including meningitis, herpes and tooth decay, and urged parents to avoid the practice.

He further called on madrasa authorities to take strong action against child sexual abuse and urged Islamic scholars not to give space to people he described as extremists.
