Gold jewellery prices have been reduced by Tk 3,324 per bhori for 22-carat gold, the highest quality sold in the country, bringing the price to Tk 220,858, including VAT.
The new prices came into effect at 10:00 AM on Sunday, October 25, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The price reduction follows a fall in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. A notice signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen, announced the revised prices.
One bhori of gold is equivalent to 11.664 grams.
