Tribunal orders probe report against Ziaul Ahsan, Fazle Karim

The International Crimes Tribunal has directed investigators to submit a report by January 1 in a case accusing former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury and former major general Ziaul Ahsan of the enforced disappearance and killing of a former union parishad chairman in Chattogram in 2010.

International Crimes Tribunal-2 issued the order on Sunday.

According to the allegations, Syed Abu Zafar, former chairman of Bagowan Union Parishad in Raozan upazila of Chattogram, was abducted in 2010 and later killed.

The prosecution has brought crimes against humanity charges against Fazle Karim Chowdhury and Ziaul Ahsan in connection with the incident.

Earlier, the prosecution had sought orders to show them arrested in the case. On April 19, International Crimes Tribunal-2 ordered that they be shown arrested and allowed investigators to question each of them for one day.
