Known for her diverse and unconventional roles across a nearly two-decade-long career, Bollywood actress Radhika Apte has maintained a firm stance against cinematic violence, consciously avoiding hyper-violent film and television projects.
While mass action genres and series currently enjoy widespread popularity, Apte addressed the issue of excessive on-screen violence during promotional interviews for her upcoming Netflix series Akkah.
Despite starring in the gangster drama centered on rival factions, the actress remains personally opposed to gore in entertainment. Speaking in an interview with PTI, Apte remarked, "I don't watch those films at all. I genuinely don't understand how someone can eat popcorn while watching scenes where fifty men or women are brutally beaten up. The strangest thing is when someone's skull is smashed in a sink, only to be struck against another slab right after. I find no logic or meaning in it, which is why I prefer not to be a part of such projects."
