Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal marked its 48th founding anniversary in districts, including Joypurhat, Laxmipur and Narayanganj, on Tuesday with a series of programmes.

JOYPURHAT: The district unit hoisted the national and party flags at the District BNP office in the morning. The event also included wreath-laying at portraits of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, followed by a prayer gathering and a brief discussion.

Among those present were District Jubo Dal Convener ATM Shahnewaz Kabir Shuvro, Joint Convener Rezvi Ahmed and Member Secretary Shariful Islam, along with other party leaders and former District Chhatra Dal officeholders.

Shuvro said a colourful procession was also scheduled to begin from Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Maidan in the afternoon.

LAXMIPUR: Organised by the district unit, the rally began at South Temuhani in the afternoon, proceeded along the town’s main roads and ended at North Temuhani.

A large number of party activists and leaders joined the procession, led by District Jubo Dal President Abdul Alim Humayun and General Secretary Syed Rashidul Hasan Lincoln.

Abul Khair Bhuiyan, MP for the Laxmipur-2 Constituency, attended the event as the chief guest.

Other attendees included Zilla Parishad Administrator Sahab Uddin Sabu, BNP leaders Main Uddin Chowdhury Riaz and Abdul Karim Bhuiyan Mizan, and Jubo Dal leaders Hasan Mahmud Ibrahim and Abdullah Al Mamun, among others.

NARAYANGANJ: A rally began from the front of the Zilla Parishad office on the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road, led by District Member Secretary Mashiur Rahman Roni and Joint Convener Khairul Islam Sajib. Participants marched through major roads before concluding at the Chashara Memorial. Leaders and activists from various police station and union units joined the procession, carrying placards and banners and playing musical instruments.

A brief gathering followed, presided over by District Jubo Dal Convener Sadekur Rahman. Addressing the gathering, Mashiur Rahman Roni urged party members to conduct themselves in ways that would not damage the prime minister’s image. He called on them to pledge to speak out against corruption, injustice and irregularities and to engage in constructive activities.
