Prime Minister's Political Adviser and BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas alleged on Saturday that a section of BNP activists are sheltering Bangladesh Awami League leaders in exchange for financial gains.
He made the remarks as the chief guest during an exchange-of-views meeting organized by five police station units of BNP and its associate bodies under the Dhaka-8 parliamentary constituency in Shahjahanpur, Dhaka.
Abbas stated that reports indicate several Awami League leaders have returned from India attempting to seek shelter in different areas, aided by greedy individuals within BNP. He cautioned that anyone assisting BNP's adversaries will face immediate organizational action.
The BNP leader further warned against attempts to create chaos, noting that while democratic political activities are welcome, unlawful acts will be resisted firmly by party activists.
Special guests at the meeting included Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam, Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal President Afroza Abbas, and Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Member Secretary Tanveer Ahmed Robin.
