Investigators are probing contradictory statements from Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep regarding the mysterious death of former Bangladesh Air Force flight lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri, focusing on an unidentified young woman captured with them on CCTV footage hours before the tragedy.

According to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) sources, surveillance footage from a restaurant in Uttara's Sector 11 shows Tahsif, Deep, and an unidentified woman arriving on motorcycles at 10:17 PM on October 27. After spending time together inside, the trio left the establishment at 11:51 PM. Investigators are trying to trace the woman's identity and determine her whereabouts after they departed.

Deep, who is currently on a four-day remand, has given shifting accounts regarding their subsequent visit to a secluded field near the Mazar Bosti area in Tongi. While Deep initially claimed he did not go to the field, investigators later recovered a numberless motorcycle based on his updated statements. PBI is examining whether drug use or other factors led them to the area, where Tahsif ultimately ended up in the Turag River.

Tahsif's father, KM Enayetul Karim, expressed deep skepticism over Deep's shifting narrative, noting that Deep had previously claimed he left Tahsif behind in Uttara.

Meanwhile, forensic experts at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital have collected visceral, blood, and organ samples for testing to determine whether intoxication or other foul play contributed to the drowning. Maritime police and PBI continue to analyze forensic data, call records, and digital communications as the investigation unfolds.
