Police HQ seeks records on 357 officers

Police Headquarters has sought information on criminal cases and departmental disciplinary proceedings involving 357 officers of the 30th and 31st BCS police cadres, asking different units to submit the details by November 3.

A letter issued by the Crime Analysis Branch on Sunday (November 1) said the list includes 179 officers from the 30th batch and 178 from the 31st. The units have been asked to provide details of any criminal cases against them, including the latest status, in both hard and soft copies.

The officers, all holding the ranks of additional superintendent of police or additional deputy commissioner of police, are serving in different police units across the country.

Earlier, on Thursday (October 29), the Personnel Management-1 branch also sought information on criminal cases and departmental disciplinary proceedings involving the officers.

Police Headquarters clarified that the request does not mean cases have been filed against all 357 officers; it is intended to verify their records.
