Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has sparked discussions by claiming that ancient India invented the concept of flying cars nearly 5,000 years ago, drawing comparisons between mythological creations and modern technological breakthroughs during promotions for his upcoming film Ramayana.
Speaking alongside director Nitesh Tiwari, Yash, Ravi Dubey, and Rakul Preet Singh in a recent interview discussing the epic film, Kapoor referenced the grand aerial chariot known as the Pushpak Ratha from Hindu mythology.
The actor brought up the comparison while discussing Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s recent demonstration of the company's new-generation Roadster, which showcased hovering and aerial maneuvering capabilities in Texas.
Kapoor asserted that while Musk and the modern world are only recently developing flying vehicle concepts, ancient India had already conceptualized and utilized similar innovations millennia ago.
Portraying Lord Rama in Tiwari’s eagerly anticipated cinematic adaptation, Kapoor expressed belief that the divine weapons and mythical creations detailed in the epics rival or surpass modern technological achievements.
