Bangladesh is set to bring more than 1,000 business leaders, technology experts and policymakers under one roof on November 5 to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption across industries and harness its potential to transform the economy.
The country's first-ever Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026 will focus on translating AI potential into practical business solutions, raising productivity and strengthening national competitiveness.
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam announced the initiative at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Jointly organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the day-long summit will take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar under the theme 'AI for Tomorrow's Economy'.
The inaugural session will begin at 10:00am at the Hall of Fame, with President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expected to attend as the chief guest.
The minister said artificial intelligence had emerged as a key driver of economic growth and national competitiveness in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Its effective application across sectors, from manufacturing to financial services, could significantly boost productivity, improve operational efficiency and transform traditional business models, he said.
The summit aims to foster a coordinated AI ecosystem by bringing together government representatives, researchers, academics, innovators and business leaders to explore opportunities, address implementation barriers and accelerate technology adoption.
Three thematic sessions will examine AI applications and challenges, industry-academia collaboration, business innovation and technology transfer.
More than 150 startups and technology companies will also showcase innovative products, services and projects, highlighting emerging AI capabilities and business opportunities in Bangladesh.
DCCI President Taskin Ahmed, Science and Technology Secretary Md Anwar Hossain and senior ministry officials were present at the press conference.
