Rafiqul Islam joins UCB as DMD 

Mohammad Rafiqul Islam joined United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 November 2026.

Prior to joining UCB, he served as Managing Director of United Finance PLC and Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Standard Bank PLC. 

He also held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank as Director and Citibank N.A. as Resident Vice President. Earlier, he served as Deputy Managing Director of BD Finance.

Mohammad Rafiqul Islam began his banking career in 1997 as a Probationary Officer at Dhaka Bank Limited..
He holds MBA degree from IBA, University of Dhaka.
