Govt aims to bring services to people’s doorsteps: State Minister Amit

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit has said the government is working to ensure quality public services and bring them to people’s doorsteps.

The government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to reducing public suffering and addressing complaints related to service delivery, he said.

Amit made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the newly constructed building of Ramnagar Union Land Office in Jashore Sadar upazila on Friday morning.

He said the government wanted to ensure that citizens received quality services without having to face unnecessary difficulties or raise complaints.

The state minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wanted to build a people-oriented government that served the entire population. The government would not deviate from its responsibility towards the people, he added.

Highlighting the importance of land offices, Amit said people must receive services at government-fixed rates. No additional money beyond the prescribed fees could be charged, he said.

Jashore Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashique Hasan, Superintendent of Police Syed Rafiqul Islam, district BNP President Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, General Secretary Delwar Hossain Khokon, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Executive Engineer Ahmed Mahbubur Rahman and district BNP Organising Secretary Engineer Robiul Islam, among others, attended the programme.

Later, the state minister inaugurated construction work on a drain and road in Ward No. 5 of Jashore Municipality.
