Labour Minister hospitalised after chest pain

Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury was admitted to a private hospital in Sylhet on Friday after experiencing severe chest pain.

He was taken to the hospital in the Akhalia area of Sylhet city at around 1:15 PM, according to a close associate of the minister, Jurez Abdullah Gulzar.

Gulzar said the minister had attended several development activities and programmes in his electoral constituency, Sylhet-4, including Companiganj upazila, in the morning.

At around 11:45 AM, he suddenly experienced severe chest pain, prompting his immediate transfer to Sylhet city for medical attention.

Doctors have said the minister is out of danger, Gulzar said, adding that he is currently resting at the hospital.
