Popular singer Kanak Chapa has returned to film playback singing after a gap of nearly nine years, lending her voice to a duet titled 'Rajkumari' for the upcoming film 'Naseeb', directed by MD Iqbal.

She has teamed up with singer Kumar Bishwajit for the song, written by lyricist Kabir Bakul, with Kishore Das composing and arranging the music.

Kanak Chapa said she had received offers to sing for films during the long break but none of the songs appealed to her enough to make a comeback.

“I received offers during these nine years, but no song really attracted me. I felt those songs could do without my voice,” she said, explaining that artists tend to be emotionally attached to their work.

Her last playback performance was for Chhatku Ahmed's film 'Pathorer Mon' in early 2018. Since then, she had stayed away from film songs.

Lyricist Kabir Bakul played a key role in bringing her back. He had approached the singer several times before, but she declined the offers. This time, his persistent request eventually convinced her to record 'Rajkumari'.
