Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan declined to collect Rs 95 lakh in outstanding payment for Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, respecting producer KC Bokadia, the veteran filmmaker has revealed.
Speaking to ANI, Bokadia said he had signed Khan for Rs 2 crore and paid him Rs 1.05 crore, leaving Rs 95 lakh unpaid. Khan later told Bokadia's son that he did not want the remaining amount, stressing that the decision was entirely his own.
Bokadia also praised Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff and Rajinikanth for not burdening producers with their staff salaries and excessive entourage expenses.
Recalling Jackie Shroff's modest demands during a Chennai shoot, Bokadia criticised the rising production costs associated with some actors' entourages, saying, "If the producer is alive, then we will also be alive."
