State Minister for Religious Affairs Shamim Kaiser Lincoln has said there is no scope for the party responsible for genocide at both party and state levels to be rehabilitated or return to power.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists in Gaibandha on Saturday (November 7), marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The state minister said the BNP stood for Bangladesh and would not rehabilitate fascists, adding that the people would not allow them to return.
Highlighting the government's development initiatives, he mentioned increased allowances for imams and muezzins, distribution of farmer and family cards, and road development projects.
Earlier, he attended fish fry release and tree plantation programmes organised by the Gaibandha District Council. He later joined a BNP procession marking the day.
