SONARGAON, NARAYANGANJ, Jan 2: The Sonargaon Reporters' Club has completed two decades of journalism rooted in truth, courage, and responsibility.
To mark its 20th founding anniversary, a Doa and Milad Mahfil was held for the welfare of the nation and its people.
The programme took place on Thursday night at the club office in Mograpara intersection, with club president Abdus Sattar Pradhan presiding. General Secretary Kamruzzaman Rana and former General Secretary Haji Shafiqul Islam conducted the event, which was attended by local and national journalists as well as social figures.
A minute's silence was observed in memory of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who recently passed away.
Speakers at the anniversary programme included former Sonargaon Press Club President Asit Kumar Das, journalists Hasan Mahmud Ripon, Al Amin Tushar, Abu Bakar Siddiq, Moktar Hossain Molla, Shahadat Hossain Ratan, Mizanur Rahman Mamun, Robiul Hossain, Mokarram Mamun, SM Monir Hossain, Kamruzzaman Milon, Akhtar Habib, Majharul Islam, Imran Hossain, Kamaluddin Bhuiya, Moshior Rahman, Rubel Mia, Shahin Saki, and Sifat, among others.
Members of the Sonargaon Press Club and civil society representatives also extended floral greetings to mark the milestone.
