2 illegal brick kilns fined at Mirzapur 

TANGAIL, Jan 6: The drive against illegal brick kilns operating without environmental clearance continues in Tangail. 
As part of this ongoing effort, a joint initiative by the Department of Environment, Tangail District Office, and the Tangail District Administration conducted a mobile court operation in Mirzapur Upazila on Tuesday.
Led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Nowshed Alam from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, legal action was taken against two illegal brick kilns operating without environmental clearance. Department of Environment, Tangail District Office Inspector Bipul Kumar Suthradhar served as the prosecutor during the drive.
During the mobile court proceedings, the chimneys of the concerned brick kilns were dismantled and unbaked bricks were destroyed. Furthermore, orders were issued to halt all operations at the kilns. The mobile court also imposed and collected a total fine of Tk 600,000 from the two brick kilns.
The drive was attended by Assistant Director of the Department of Environment, Tangail District Office Tapas Chandra Pal along with Police, and Fire Service officials and staff.
