The 40th convention of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) will be held from September 4 to 6 at the Holiday Inn Resort in Orlando, Florida, USA.
This information was given at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Thursday. The detailed program and goals of the 40th FOBANA convention were presented at the press conference.
Leaders of the central committee and host committee of FOBANA business were present at the press conference. Also present were Central Committee Chairman Zahid Hossain, Vice Chairman Ziaul Haque Zia, former chairman Bedarul Islam Babul, Executive Secretary Nihal Rahim, and others.
The host committee included President Mohammad Shamim, Vice President Atiqur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Sentu, Shams Ahmed Shovon, Jason Chowdhury, Convener (Finance Committee) Md. Ishaq Ali, Convener (Management Committee) Helal Ahmed and Co-Convenor Rezaul Haque Reza.
They informed at the press conference that this year's convention is particularly significant; because it will celebrate the glorious journey of four decades of FOBANA. For a long time, FOBANA has been playing an important role in uniting Bangladeshis living in North America, preserving cultural identity, developing leadership and international engagement.
Leaders said through the event, Bangladeshi entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to enter the international market. Professionals and businessmen will be able to build global partnerships.
The organizers said FOBANA Convention has been working as a strong platform for expatriate Bangladeshi community since its inception. Over time, it has become an international gathering, where culture, leadership, youth development, business connections and global cooperation come together.
