Unidentified girl’s body found on Cox’s Bazar beach

Police recovered the body of an unidentified girl from a beach near Maheshkhaliya Para under Teknaf Sadar union in Cox’s Bazar district on Thursday noon.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be known, aged around eight years old.

According to locals, they spotted the body on the beach on Thursday around 1:00 PM and immediately informed police.

Teknaf Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the incident and said that the body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, added the OC.
