PSL 2026: Rishad joins Rawalpindi for PKR 3 crore; Miraz misses out

Rawalpindi claimed the headline Bangladesh signing at the PSL 2026 auction on Wednesday, snapping up leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for PKR 3 crore in Pakistan, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz walked away unsold.

The Pakistan Super League staged its 11th season player auction with strong early interest from Bangladeshi fans. Rishad entered the spinner category with a base price of PKR 1 crore 10 lakh and quickly became a focal point.

Karachi and Rawalpindi locked horns in a tense bidding duel. Rawalpindi held their nerve and pushed the price up to PKR 3 crore to seal the deal.

The result underlined Rishad’s growing reputation as a white-ball wicket-taker. Franchises clearly valued his attacking leg-spin and his ability to break games open in the middle overs.

The news cut sharply the other way for Miraz. The Bangladesh all-rounder went unsold when his name came up earlier in the auction, a surprise given his international experience.

Bangladesh featured heavily on the auction list with 50 players registered across categories. Their presence kept interest high among franchises searching for spin depth and middle-order balance.

One Bangladesh move arrived before the auction even began. Lahore Qalandars secured Mustafizur Rahman through a direct signing, removing him from the bidding room.

Several high-profile Bangladesh names remain in the pool, including Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Taskin Ahmed. Their fate will shape how strong the Bangladesh contingent looks when PSL 2026 finally gets underway.
