Police have recovered the throat-slit bodies of a woman and two children from a house in Homna upazila of Cumilla on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sukhi Akter, 25, wife of Saudi expatriate Zahirul Islam; their son Hossain, 5; and Zubayer, 6, son of Zahirul’s brother Sattar Mia, also a Saudi expatriate. All three were found dead at their residence in the Manipur area under Gharmora union.

According to neighbours, the victims had slept in the same room on Monday night. When they did not wake up in the morning, locals called out to them but received no response. Finding the front door locked, they looked through a window and saw the three lying motionless on the floor.

Homna Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Morshedul Alam Chowdhury confirmed the incident.

Police are investigating the deaths, the OC said.
