BARAIGRAM, NATORE, Mar  6: Abdul Aziz, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Natore-4 (Baraigram-Gurudaspur) has assured teachers that they will no longer need to take to the streets and face police baton-charges to have their rightful demands met.

Speaking as the chief guest at the "Discussion on Education Quality Improvement and Teachers' Reception" programme at Baraigram Upazila Parishad auditorium on Thursday afternoon, he said that under the teacher-friendly BNP government, all legitimate claims of educators would be fulfilled without protests. He noted that the government has already increased the festival allowance for teachers by 10 per cent.

Abdul Aziz criticised the previous administration, saying it had damaged the education system with arbitrary policies and absurd curricula. He urged teachers to focus on ensuring quality education to build a well-educated nation, assuring that the government would meet their demands.

The programme was attended by representatives of all schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutes in the upazila. The session was presided over by UNO Laila Jannatul Ferdous and conducted by Academic Supervisor Moniruzzaman. Among the speakers were Secondary Education Officer Selim Aktar, Principal Professor Abdul Matin of Baraigram Government Honors College, Acting Principal M. Lutfur Rahman of Bonpara Degree College, Principal Ishak Ali, Principal Maulana Akmal Hossain, Headmaster Rezaul Karim, and Headmaster Asaduzzaman.
