Workers demand wages, bonuses before Eid

Leaders and activists of the Socialist Workers Front on Friday staged a protest rally in the capital demanding the immediate payment of monthly wages, full festival bonuses and all outstanding dues to workers ahead of Eid.

The demonstration was held in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka, where speakers warned that millions of workers across different sectors are yet to receive their salaries and bonuses despite the approaching festival.

The rally was chaired by Lutfur Rahman Pakir Ali, vice-president of the Dhaka city unit of the organisation.

Among others, central general secretary Ahsan Habib Bulbul, Dhaka city general secretary Khalequzzaman Lipon, law secretary Advocate Bimal Chandra Saha, Garments Workers Front general secretary Selim Mahmud and finance secretary Saiful Islam Sharif addressed the gathering.
