Teen girl’s hanging body recovered in Ctg

Police have recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl from Hathazari upazila of Chittagong.

The body was recovered from a rented house of Ward No. 5 of the West Gate area of Hathazari Municipality on Wednesday night.

According to police and local sources, deceased Munni Akhtar, 17, lived with her family in a rented house in the West Phatika area. Getting no response for ling time, the family and local residents  quickly informed the matter to police.

Receiving the information, the Hathazari Model Police Station SI reached the spot and with the help of local people, broke the door open and found Munni hanging from the ceiling fan. 

Later, the body was taken into the police custody.

Meanwhile, the family could not give any answer to the question regarding the death.

However, locals believe that Munni might have 'committed suicide' over a family feud.

The Sub-Inspector of Hathazari Model Police Station confirmed the matter, saying that the post-mortem report of the body is being prepared and sent to the morgue. 

Further legal action will be taken once getting the report, the SI added.
