Leaders of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) marked Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday by visiting the families of those killed in the July mass uprising, offering prayers at their graves and expressing solidarity through a programme titled “Shaheedi Mulakat.”
A delegation led by Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb visited several grave sites in Uttara and nearby areas, including those of Arafat Hossain Shahadat, Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, Ridwan Sharif Riyad (Joy) and Jabir Ibrahim.
The team later met with their families to convey Eid greetings and offer condolences.
Following Eid prayers, the leaders first visited Arafat’s residence, where they spoke with his parents and relatives. During the meeting, Arafat’s brother Hasan Ali called for justice over his killing and raised concerns about the family’s financial stability and social security.
Later in the day, around 11am, the delegation went to Kamarpara to visit the graves of Mugdho and Joy. They offered prayers and spent time with Joy’s family, extending Eid wishes.
In a separate visit, another NCP delegation led by Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary met the family of Farhan Faiyaz around 7pm to share Eid greetings.
NCP leaders said the “Shaheedi Mulakat” programme reflects their solidarity with the families of those who sacrificed their lives during the July uprising.
