Seed, fertiliser distributed to Santhia farmers

SANTHIA, PABNA, Apr 3: Under the theme 'Agriculture is Prosperity', the inauguration of free distribution of airflow machines, jute, sesame, mung bean, and Aus rice seeds, as well as chemical fertilisers, was held on Friday. 

 The distribution among beneficiary farmers under the Agricultural Incentive Programme for the Kharif-1 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year, was organized by the Upazila Agriculture Office in Santhia Upazila of Pabna District in  the Upazila Parishad Conference Room. 

The event was presided over by Santhia Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Mahmudul Hasan and conducted by Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Junaed Al Sadi. The chief guest was Santhia Upazila Executive Officer Rizu Tamanna.

Others who spoke at the event included: Maulana Mokhlesur Rahman, Ameer of Santhia Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami; Anisur Rahman, Secretary and Assistant Professor; Shahjahan Ali, former Joint General Secretary of Upazila BNP; and Faruk Hossain, former Vice-President of Santhia Press Club. Also present were Manik Mia Rana, former President of Santhia Press Club; Sushil Kumar Das, General Secretary of the Upazila Puja Celebration Committee; along with journalists and other officers and staff of the Agriculture Office.

According to the Agriculture Office, under the agricultural incentive programme for the Kharif-1 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year, the following will be distributed: jute seeds to 1,000 farmers, mung bean seeds to 70 farmers, sesame seeds to 1,200 farmers, Aus rice seeds to 1,600 farmers, and airflow machines to 220 farmers.
