MADARIPUR, Apr 3: The annual election of the Madaripur District Bar Association was held in its conference room on Thursday.
Advocate Md. Emdadul Haque Khan and Advocate Md. Mahbub Hossain Shakil were elected president and general secretary respectively in the election.
Other elected officials are: Advocate Jalalur Rahman Molla (Senior Vice-President), Mohammad Zafar Imam Sujan, Monir Hasan Mithu (Joint General Secretary), Mohidul Islam (Treasurer), Md. Kamruzzaman (Entertainment Affairs Secretary), and KM Azizul Haque Mukul (Maharar Affairs Secretary).
Besides, Advocate Mohammad Nafis Iqbal Robin, Atiqur Rahman, Dalia Akhter, Satyen Kumar Dhali and Mohammad Helal Uddin were elected executive members.
Earlier, Advocate Mahbub Hasan Saroj was elected junior vice-president and Advocate Dewan Mohammad Golam Mostafa was elected unopposed as library secretary.
Election Commissioner Advocate Mohammad Farhadul Islam said that 250 out of a total of 254 voters cast their votes in the election.
