Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury has announced that NASSA Mainland Garments will resume normal operations from Wednesday (April 8).
He made the announcement following an emergency meeting with NASSA Group representatives and officials from the concerned ministries at the conference room of the Ministry of Labour and Employment on Monday.
The Labour Minister called the meeting on the instructions of the Prime Minister to resolve the problem in the wake of the Tejgaon road blockade by mainland workers on April 5.
NASSA Mainland Garments authorities had closed their operations since the last Eid-ul-Fitr, citing financial difficulties.
Labour Minister emphasized on keeping the factory open uninterruptedly for the sake of employment. In addition to providing all kinds of cooperation from the ministry in light of legal regulations, he urged the workers to cooperate with the authorities by working an extra hour every day if necessary to speed up production.
