A Dhaka court has ordered the transfer of a flat fraud case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against Tulip Rizwana Siddiq and others to Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 for trial.

Judge Md Sabbir Foyez of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court passed the order on Wednesday (April 8) and set April 16 for the charge hearing.

Court officials said a gazette notification has been issued through the Bangladesh Government Press summoning the accused to appear before the court.

Earlier, on February 18, the court took cognisance of the charge sheet and issued arrest warrants against Siddiq and former RAJUK Assistant Legal Adviser Sardar Mosharraf Hossain.

The ACC filed the case on April 15 last year, accusing Siddiq and others of abusing power to obtain a flat in Gulshan-2 from Eastern Housing Limited without payment and later registering it.

According to the charge sheet submitted on December 11, the issue falls under relevant sections of the Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
