DU Prof Yearul Kabir appointed JUST VC

Professor Dr. Yearul Kabir of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at University of Dhaka has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST).

The appointment was confirmed on Monday through a notification issued by Ministry of Education, following approval from the President, who also serves as the Chancellor of public universities. 

The order was signed by Assistant Secretary Md. Shah Alam Siraj.

Dr. Kabir will serve a four-year term, effective from the date he assumes office. He will receive a salary and allowances equivalent to those of his current position, along with other benefits associated with the role.

As Vice-Chancellor, he will be required to reside on the university campus full-time.

The notification also states that the Chancellor reserves the authority to revoke the appointment at any time if deemed necessary.

Dr. Kabir succeeds the previous administration under the provisions of the Jashore University of Science and Technology Act, 2001.
