Criminal held with firearms in Noakhali

Police, during a joint drive, have arrested a criminal at Hatiya upazila of Noakhali district.

The drive was conducted on Friday morning at Madhya Machuara area of the upazila by a joint team of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and the local police.

Arrested Md Mohibullah alias 'Mofuilla Chora', 40, is the resident of the same upazila.

On secret information, the joint forces conducted a drive which lasted from 7AM to 11AM. They detained Mohibullah.

As per his information, the team raided his house and recovered two locally-made firearms and four sharp weapons.

According to Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Media Officer at Coast Guard Headquarters, arrested Mohibullah is accused of various criminal activities in the area. He is already an accused in a arms case.

Legal proceedings are underway against Mohibullah, the Coast Guard added.
