
MADARIPUR, Apr 18: A day-long training workshop on human rights journalism was held in Madaripur on Saturday.
Organised by the Bangladesh Manobadhikar Sangbadik Forum, the programme took place at the conference room of the Madaripur Legal Aid Association in the morning.
Among those who spoke at the workshop were BMSF Secretary General Khairuzzaman Kamal, National Press Club Management Committee member and country desk editor of Desh Rupantor Shahnaz Poli, and chief correspondent of Daily Bangladesh Post Ahmed Ullah.
The speakers discussed various aspects of human rights journalism, including ethics and responsible reporting.
They also elaborated on key international frameworks such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
They highlighted the practical application of these conventions and their importance in journalism.
During the evaluation session, district correspondent of The Daily Observer Abul Hasan Sohel and senior journalist Mahbubur Rahman Badal also spoke.
A total of 25 journalists from across Madaripur district took part in the workshop.
