International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh (ICCB) in its latest report hailed the Bangladesh-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), signed on 6 February 2026, as a historic milestone. It said the deal marks a shift from LDC-based benefits to a rules-based global trade system. Japan's duty-free access for 97% of Bangladeshi exports, including garments, will protect trade after LDC graduation. The EPA also covers services, investment, and digital trade, opening new opportunities for professionals and investors. ICCB noted its role in diversifying exports and boosting competitiveness, and stressed the need for stronger domestic readiness to fully benefit.
