A Bangladeshi hajj pilgrim has died in Saudi Arabia's Makkah. This is the first death of a Bangladeshi pilgrim in this year's hajj.
Deceased Md Naim Uddin Mondal, 75, a resident of Jaypurhat of Bangladesh, died on Tuesday (April 21).
His passport number is A-19959238.
The daily bulletin of the IT Helpdesk on the hajj portal confirmed this at 3AM on Wednesday.
A total of 20,553 hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh have reached Saudi Arabia to perform the holy hajj.
According to the hajj bulletin, citing sources from airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Hajj Office in Dhaka, and authorities in Saudi Arabia, as of 2:59AM Wednesday, 7,855 pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia on 19 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 7,015 pilgrims on 18 flights by Saudi Airlines, and 5,693 pilgrims on 14 flights by Flynas Airlines.
