
KHULNA, Apr 26: Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Prof Dr Muhammad Masud emphasised that in order to keep pace with global technological advancements, mechanical engineering students must acquire innovative skills and application-based knowledge.
He said these as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the three-day national mechanical festival "Ignition-2026" at the KUET auditorium on Saturday evening organized by the KUET's Mechanical Engineering Department.
The chief guest said that the events like "Ignition-2026" play an effective role in fostering creativity, enhancing problem-solving abilities, and providing practical experience.
Among others, festival convener Prof Dr Mohammad Iliyas Enam, Co-convener Prof Dr Mohammad Sultan Mahmud, Director of Student Welfare Prof Dr Md Hasan Ali, and teachers of the concerned department were present.
About 1,000 students from 22 universities across the country also attended the festival. A total prize pool of Tk 6 lakh was distributed among the winners. Several renowned organizations sponsored the festival.
