Woman found hanging in Dohar

A woman was found hanging in Dohar upazila of Dhaka on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shiuli, 40, wife of Mohiuddin of Char Narayanpur area under Mahmudpur union of the upazila.

According to family members, Shiuli had been suffering from mental illness and had previously attempted suicide.

They said she was found hanging in a washroom around 1:00 PM at her residence in Narayanpur area.

Later, she was rescued and taken to Dohar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.

Dohar Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Hamidur Rahman said legal procedures are underway.
