
KAWKHALI, PIROJPUR, Apr 27: Nutritious food items were distributed among students in Kawkhali Upazila of Pirojpur on Monday, marking National Nutrition Week.
The programme was organised by Kawkhali Upazila Health Complex and held in the morning at Char Bashuri-Domjuri Government Primary School and Garta Ehiya-e-Ulumuddin Qaumi Madrasa and orphanage.
During the event, students received various nutritious food items as part of efforts to raise awareness on child nutrition and healthy development.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Subrata Karmakar and EPI Officer ABM Anisul Haque were present, among others.
Addressing the students, Dr Karmakar said proper nutrition from early childhood is essential to build a healthy and intelligent future generation. He stressed the importance of nutritious food for both physical and mental development of children.
He added that such awareness programmes play a vital role in encouraging students to become more conscious about health and nutrition.
After the discussion, food items were distributed among the students in a festive atmosphere.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at strengthening awareness on balanced diets and improving nutritional habits among schoolchildren and madrasa students in rural areas.
