Law enforcers still clueless in Titon murder

Law enforcers failed to find out the killers of underworld figure Khandokar Nayeem Ahmed Titon, brutally murdered in the capital's New Market area on the night of 28 April.

Yet sources in several agencies are now pointing suspicion towards another don, Sanjidul Islam Emon - also known as Captain Emon, as the man behind the killing. Blame game in the underworld, is one side trying to frame the other by killing?
According to the sources, Titon and, Imamul Hasan Helal - commonly referred to as Picchi Helal - had, roughly two months ago, tipped off two intelligence agencies that Emon was on his way back to Bangladesh from Cambodia. Somehow, that information found its way back to Emon himself.

By the time it did, Emon had already returned and quietly settled in Dhaka. Someone within the intelligence apparatus then reportedly advised him to arrange for newspaper and television reports to be published claiming he was still abroad.

The logic was straightforward: if such reports circulated, the agency personnel involved could file papers to the government stating Emon remained outside the country. Emon subsequently rang someone close to him.
