Seven more people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,593 patients have been hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities this year has risen to 164. Of them, 67 deaths occurred in September, making it the deadliest month of the year so far.
According to the DGHS bulletin issued on Tuesday, 171 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North City Corporation areas and 132 in Dhaka South City Corporation areas between 8am Monday and 8am Tuesday.
