The body of a 29-year-old man was recovered from the side of the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line at Kewatkhali area of Mymensingh city on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md. Robin Mia, was the son of Md. Badal Mia and a resident of Bayra village near the Bangladesh Agricultural University campus.
According to police and family sources, Robin left his home on Tuesday evening, stating he was heading to Trishal for a job interview. He had been missing since then.
Locals discovered his body near the Kewatkhali market area at around 7:30 AM and alerted the authorities.
Railway police subsequently recovered the body and sent it to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
The victim's father, Badal Mia, filed a murder case against unidentified individuals at the Mymensingh Railway Police Station on Wednesday afternoon.
Mymensingh Railway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Akter Hossain confirmed the filing of the case and stated, "We are actively working to uncover the mystery behind this incident."
