Man dies after falling from tree in Cumilla

A man died after falling from a tree while cutting it in Cumilla’s Homna upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Roman Mia, 35, son of Anwar Hossain of Mithai Bhanga village under Dulalpur union in the upazila.

According to locals, the incident took place around 8:00 AM when Roman climbed the tree to cut it down. At one stage while cutting the tree, he fell from a height of around 10 feet and sustained critical injuries.

Later, he was rushed to Homna Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Homna Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Thomas Barua confirmed the death.
