UPDF member shot dead in Sajek

A member of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF-Prosit faction) was shot dead in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati. The deceased was identified as Hegera Chakma, 50.

The incident took place on Saturday in Shuknachhara of Sajek union, Rangamati's Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Abdur Rakib confirmed the incident.

According to local sources, several armed men took position in the Shuknachhara area early in the morning and opened fire on Hegera Chakma, shooting several rounds at him.
