The government will help girls move towards a future that they dream of building for themselves, instead of creating obstacles in their path, says Zubaida Rahman, wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

She believes that the state will play an important role by ensuring the safety of girl children and supporting their healthy and humane development.

Her remarks came on Monday, the second day of Police Week, while attending the "Annual Gathering and Fun Fair" organised by the Bangladesh Police Nari Kalyan Samity (PUNAK), or Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association, at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium.

In her speech as the chief guest, Zubaida emphasised encouraging women entrepreneurs in small, cottage, and medium industries based on merit, with the goal of achieving self-reliance.

She said, "If the necessary training, development, and marketing support is provided, it will be possible to increase family prosperity, improve children's education, and pave the way towards achieving poverty alleviation goals."    "bdnews24
