Banned BCL leader’s hanging body recovered from Ctg flyover

The body of a banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader found hanging from Sagarika flyover at Pahartali area of Chattogram city on Monday morning. , identified as 

The deceased was identified as Abu Kawsar, 27 son of late Kashem from Rawzan upazila, resided in the West Feroz Shah Post Office area. He was known to be the Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Akbar Shah Thana unit of banned BCL and was employed as a security guard at the BSRM depot.

The body was found by the locals at around 3:00 AM near the BSRM depot. 

Pahartali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Nurul Absar stated that officers responded to the scene after locals spotted the body. 

The remains were subsequently transported to Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital for an autopsy and following the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to family, he added.

While a case of unnatural death has been officially registered, police confirmed that a serious investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, the OC concluded.
