LGRD Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday stressed the need for stronger international cooperation to ensure workers' welfare, safe working conditions, and sustainable urban development.
"It is necessary to strengthen international cooperation further to ensure the welfare of workers, a safe working environment and sustainable urban development," he said during separate meetings with delegations from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and China State Construction Engineering Corporation at the Secretariat.
The meetings focused on expanding cooperation in labor welfare, waste management, employment generation, and infrastructure development.
During talks with the ILO country director, discussions centred on improving the living standards of city corporation cleaners, enhancing their professional skills, creating employment opportunities, and introducing modern waste management systems.
