BGB deployed in Dhaka, Gazipur to ensure smooth Eid travel

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in several key areas of Dhaka and Gazipur to maintain law and order, reduce traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement of people ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

According to BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam, personnel have been stationed in Dhaka’s New Market area, the Elevated Expressway, Savar’s Nabinagar and Baipail, as well as Gazipur City Corporation and Gazipur Chourasta.

The deployment has been carried out following government directives to facilitate safe and uninterrupted Eid travel for holidaymakers.

BGB members will also assist executive magistrates in conducting mobile court operations at key toll plazas, highways and traffic-prone areas.

Officials said the BGB personnel will remain deployed from seven days before Eid until three days after the festival to help manage traffic and maintain public security during the busy travel period.
