PM urges citizens' cooperation for dengue prevention

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged citizens' cooperation for preventing dengue and ensuring cleanliness in the country.

He said while inaugurating the country-wide dengue prevention and cleanliness drive at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday morning.

"Everybody should make joint efforts to change the country. If everybody makes joint efforts for building the nation then there won't be any hurdle in their way.''

The Premier said the government would make their maximum efforts in the next three months for overcoming the dengue situation. Though there would not be 100 per cent solution to the problem but effective steps will be taken for controlling the situation.

"Let us remain healthy and let the society become healthy," Tarique urged the people to spend one hour every week for cleanliness.

He also appealed to everybody not to throw rubbish around, adding everybody's participation is required for making the country clean.

"On August 5, 2024, the people of the country proved that change is possible. Let us now change the state," the prime minister added.

Earlier before attending the programme, he visited several stalls and met people.
