DU researcher Sajib appointed as aviation state minister’s political secretary

Dhaka University (DU) MPhil researcher Md Shayid Bin Anwar Sajib has been appointed as the political secretary to Civil Aviation and Tourism State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat.

The appointment came into effect immediately, according to an official letter issued on Thursday.

According to the appointment letter, Sajib will coordinate development activities in Jamalpur-1 constituency and maintain communication with relevant individuals and institutions on behalf of the state minister. The appointment will remain valid until further notice.

Sajib, son of Md Anwar Hossain Pradhan, hails from Kalikpur village in Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur district.

He is a practising lawyer and currently pursuing MPhil research at Dhaka University. In the 2019 DUCSU election, he secured the second-highest votes among member candidates from the Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) panel.

He also previously served as convener of Dewanganj upazila unit of JCD.

State Minister Millat expressed hope that Sajib would discharge his responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.

The appointment has generated enthusiasm among BNP leaders and activists in Jamalpur-1 constituency, with grassroots leaders expecting it to strengthen organisational activities and enhance coordination with the state minister.
